United States of America

Helping Hands International participated in three USA Service Projects this year, namely in Alaska, California and Oregon.  These projects were focused on meeting local needs at Covenant Bible Camp, YWAM and Youth71five Ministry (see below).  Please visit our Calendar page for more information related to scheduled trips or Contact Us if you have any questions regarding how you can be involved in future Service Projects!

Alaska

This year a group of 28 volunteers (comprised of Fireman/EMTs, Contractors, Engineers, Pastors, Doctors, Nurses, young people of retired individuals) served at Covenant Bible Camp (outside of Unalakleet). During this trip, we were able to complete several projects, including but not limited to: built two cold weather cabins (including posts, beam foundations, decks, railing, stairs), insulated walls and sub-floors, built four single bunks, four benches and four new sawhorses, hauled trees and brush and raised money for a scholarship fund through t-shirt sales.  Visit our Events page to see what upcoming projects you might want to participate in or click the Donate link to support us financially!

California

For the past fifteen years, Helping Hands International has been sending volunteers to San Francisco, California to serve homeless in the Inner City and to support the efforts of local YWAMThis year we are sending a group of men-only to the Inner City to continue this effort.  If you are interested in joining us as a HHI Volunteer, please follow the Trip Registration process today!

Oregon

We desire to make a difference in our own community and every year we choose a deserving project in Medford, Oregon for a “Mini Home Makeover.”

This year, approximately 40 volunteers served over 7 days to demolish a retired fire station for Youth71five Ministry, which plans to finish construction on what will ultimately be a two-story youth center in the heart of downtown Medford that will allow them to build mentoring relationships with at-risk youth.

Last year, we had the opportunity to work with the Women’s Gospel Mission and were able to revamp their out door area, install new carpet inside their facility, install a commercial grade exterior door, along with many other misc. items. What once was dying grass and overgrown bushes was transformed into bark with a playground making a very functional outdoor space. This provided a safe space for recovering mothers to let their kids play without worry.

And, in 2020, we plan to partner with the Medford Salvation Army to develop an outdoor space, adjacent to one of their facilities, to include an outdoor amphitheater, eating space and possibly volleyball court.  If you are interested in joining us, please click on our Trip Registration page to complete an Interest Form.
