OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES

We had to postpone sending a team of Pastors and Volunteers to India in 2023 but instead welcomed Pastor Masa to S. Oregon for some much needed rest.   However, in 2025, we plan to send a team Volunteers to aid in a Pastors conference Emmanuel is holding. The first week we will be meeting with his team of experienced pastors in order to gain understanding of culture, their theological background, encourage, and build relationship. The second week we will help set up tents, cook, and teach along side Emmanuel and his team. This conference will include around 100 Pastors and their wives. Most of the Pastors or aspiring pastors know just the basics of the Gospel and are eager to lean more.

Other things we will be doing include -

Outreach to Orphans — Their will be lots of children present while holding the conference that are striving for connection. Activities with local Orphans will include playing games and doing crafts. We will also share meals with them and have lots for fellowship.

Church — The team will attend at least one church service where they will be given the opportunity to share a message such as a testimony.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PROJECT

Pastor Emmanuel Masa is and is a full time pastor who also oversees a network of 40 pastors. He helps each pastor with church activities, training, church planting and whatever other support they may need. He also facilitates planting pastors in remote villages containing unreached people groups located in the mountains surrounding his town.  Emmanuel also goes to the villages for a weeks at a time every month over the summer time months. You cannot get to the villages during the rainy season because they are too remote. Emmanuel also takes care of the children including housing, clothing, feeding, and teaching them both Christianity and school.  He can have up to 30 orphaned children at a time. He holds weekly prayer services and weekly church services. We believe in what Pastor Emmanuel is doing for the kingdom of God and will continue to support him any way we can.

      OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES

Completing an Orphanage – We will primarily be focused on completing an Orphanage, which currently has a foundation and pillars but no enclosed walls or electricity. We will be working with a local mason to to set the brick for the walls as well as starting the plaster and electricity. This transformation will radically change Emmanuel’s ability to take care of the children he watches over.

Outreach to Orphans — The children will be present while we are building and I’m sure will be a big help in the process as well as be an amazing blessing to spend time with. Activities with local Orphans will include playing games, doing crafts and a one day vacation bible school. We will also share meals with them and have lots for fellowship.

Church — The team will attend at least one church service where they will be given the opportunity to share a message such as a testimony.

We will have the opportunity to reach out to un-reached people groups in a remote villages.  There will be adequate time to explore some of India and fall in love with the culture.

      THE STORY BEHIND THE PROJECT

“Andhra Pradesh is a state bordering India’s southeastern coast. Major cultural landmarks include Tirumala Venkateshwara Temple, an ornate hilltop shrine to Hindu’s Vishnu, in the southern part of the state. It’s visited by tens of millions of pilgrims annually. The major northern port of Visakhapatnam has popular beaches like Ramakrishna and Rishikonda lining the Bay of Bengal, offering spots for swimming and surfing.

Helping Hands International completed a scouting trip to this area in 2019 and is excited to partner with the local Pastor and school teacher Emmanuel Masa to help him further in his efforts. This year we will be completing an Orphanage facility that Emmanuel has started.

Emmanuel and his wife run the Bethany Children home where they take care of more than 30 local Orphans.”
