Helping Hands International is partnering with Samaritan's purse to provide Tornado Relief to Mayfield, KY following a series tornados that caused death and destruction in its path on 12/10/21-12/11/21. This month we announced we are moving forward with our annual Southern Oregon Makeover project, scheduled for 6/18/22-7/1/22! This year we plan to focus on remodeling newly donated space at the Women's Gospel Mission, for The Pregnancy Center, which has new moms and babies in need of shelter. Check out our Southern Oregon service project page for more details and to register to Volunteer! Can't physically join us for this local project but still want to help? Good news, you can support this project through prayer and by helping us cover the cost of building materials through our online fundraiser! We are also happy to announce we are rolling out a brand new "Saturday Feeding Program" in Nairobi, Kenya this month that will feed approximately 1,600 students each week! This is in addition to the approximately 200 students we feed each week through our Child Sponsorship program so, we are praising the Lord for this new provision.

Join us this month for Asparagus Harvesting! Starting Saturday, April 30, 2022 (and every Saturday thereafter for the next 5 weeks) from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. we will be helping the Steigleder family harvest 52 rows of asparagus. All proceeds made from the sale of the asparagus will go toward food and/or water relief projects! This a free Volunteer service project but registration is required. Thank you!

This month we are sending our first two Volunteer teams to Mexico to build houses for families in need! We have about 90 Volunteers scheduled to travel this month and plan to build ten houses in two weeks! Please pray for these Volunteers, our Teams Leaders and funds to come in to cover the costs of the buildings. We still need about $50k and invite you to donate today! We also ask for your prayers as we kick off the 2022 Southern Oregon Makeover Project at the Women's Gospel Mission on behalf of the Pregnancy Center. Volunteers will be remodeling 5 apartments for new moms who have had an unexpected pregnancy but have chosen to keep their baby and need resources like housing. We are also trying to raise funds for this project too so thank you for considering giving a gift!

Praise the Lord! We completed the S. Oregon Makeover project at The Pregnancy Center's new space at The Women's Gospel Mission and welcomed home our first two Mexico mission trip teams - who built a total of 10 houses in Baja! Our next Mexico team is scheduled to leave on 7/24/22 so please be praying for them. We could still use funds to cover the cost of both of these project so, if you are so include, click here to help: S.OR Makeover & Mexico House Builds. Finally, we announced a new partnership with Pacific Bible College, and sent out a market survey for a new 1-year Gap Year certificate worth up to 33 college credits, in hopes of giving students the opportunity to experience short terms missions!

At the end of July, we were given the opportunity to help distribute and install portable air conditioners to S. Oregon residents who were 65 years of age or older, or disabled (any age), and are Medicare or Medicaid recipients. We are happy to announce this Heat Relief project extended into August and we continued to deliver and install units in Cave Junction, Central Point, Glide, Grants Pass, Medford, Talent, and White City, Oregon etc. ! We also sent out our last Mexico team, who went to Baja to build our last set of houses for the Summer, and Alaska team, who went to Unalakleet to serve individuals and families in need. Your prayers for our Team Leaders and Volunteers joining these projects were appreciated! Currently, we are turning our attention to assist our neighbors in Northern California, who survived the McKinney and Yeti fires, through our newest Disaster Relief & Recovery project. This month we are sending a Volunteer team to Kenya to dedicate the two houses we built for women in need in Rakwaro, visit children in our Child Sponsorship program, and complete various projects for local villagers. In addition, we released our "Save the date!" message for the annual Celebration Banquet, which is scheduled for 11/10/22 at 6 p.m. at the Rogue Valley Country Club. This month we are sending a Volunteer team to India to serve orphans at the Bethany Children's home, another Volunteer team to California to serve homeless outreach efforts at YWAM's San Francisco facility, Volunteer teams to N. California to serve McKinney and Mill Fire Survivors, and Volunteer teams to Florida to serve Hurricane Ian Survivors. Please pray for our Volunteers as they go out to share the love of Jesus with people who are hurting. This month we kicked off our Year-End Fundraiser by holding our first in-person annual Celebration Banquet in three years! Thank you to the almost 300 guests, Volunteers, and Sponsors who made this event possible! This month we also sent a small, but mighty, team to Cambodia in response to an invitation we received from World Team to assist with their annual missionary conference. We were blessed to serve the approximately 55 men, women and children who have dedicated their lives to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ around the globe and ask for your prayers for them, as well as our team who is scheduled to come back on 11/17/22. We also continued to take online Volunteer applications for the Disaster Relief project to help Hurricane Ian Survivors in Florida. If you are interested in helping with this project, please click here! Finally, we are turning our attention to our online Year-End Fundraiser to ensure we have the necessary funds to continue sharing the love of God through practical hands-on care in 2023!
