Helping Hands International currently supports over 200 students through a monthly Child Sponsorship Program. However, we also have a College/Trade School Scholarship Program, Feeding Program and Women's Savings and Loan Program. Find out how you can get involved in sharing the love of God with us!
The HHI Child Sponsorship Program started with children from the Rakwaro, Kenya village. While the quality of this 2019 trip video is not great, the strong, sweet voices of the children our Volunteers went to visit is clear: "We are so happy to welcome you to our school. Our guest, you know we love you!"
In 2021, HHI was asked if we would support 38 children from the Bethany Education Centre (BEC) in the Kawangware slum and 5 children from the Destiny Junior Academy (DJA) in the Mathare slum of Nairobi, Kenya. BEC serves about 650 students, feeds the children a hot breakfast and lunch (which for most students is the only meal they receive during the day), and teaches about Jesus on a daily basis.
In 2021, we also announced a new College Scholarship Program to help students who were interested in pursuing a higher education through a local college or trade school in their area.
As of March 2022, we announced a new Saturday Feed Program in Nairobi, which is expected to feed 1,600 students (from Mcedo Beijing School, BEC and DJA) each week, which is >80k meals by the end of the year! As of 2023, our Child Sponsorship and College Trade Scholarship Programs had over 200 students, on a combined basis, and we continued to feed approximately 1,600 students each week through our Saturday Feed Program - praise the LORD!
In 2022, we began a Women's Savings & Loan program in Kenya through a partnership with an Oregon church and using the Chalmers' Restore curriculum (see sample video attached). Our program teaches women over an 8-10 month period how to save money, encourage each other, and take small loans from their local Women's savings group. The curriculum is all Biblically based is designed for third world countries. We now have it going on in three parts of Kenya with over 100 women involved.
In November 2023, we continued to conduct our our Women’s Saving & Loans group WAY up country. Approximately 16 women are about to complete the entire program, which is now in three areas of Kenya and is comprised of about 100 women.
October 2023, we dedicated a new borehole/well in Nairobi, Kenya!
September 2023, we held another "Help without Hurting" class attended by 70 local Kenyans.
In August 2023, HHI had the privilege of helping several families with needed resources, including this family, who includes one of our Child Sponsorship students - thanks to our generous Donors! Their house was burned down several months ago and we were able to purchase new furniture and begin looking into building a new home for them!
In April 2023, we received a beautiful thank you note from a Mother of Triplets who continues to receive assistance from HHI thanks to our faithful Donors!

The Child Sponsorship Program provides funding for children 14 years old or younger to receive food, education and the good news of the gospel. Sponsors commit to providing $38 a month to support their Sponsored Child through the program.
Currently, we serve close to 200 students through global partners at three locations overseas! We started the Program in 2016 with a handful of children from Rakwaro, Kenya. However, by God's grace, we expanded the program in 2020 into Andhra Pradesh, India (which is now a dedicate India outreach), in 2021 to Kawangware (a slum in Nairobi, Kenya) where we added more than 50 students from two schools, and in 2022 to Kakamega, Kenya where we serve orphans at the Amati Child Development Initiative.
Your sponsored child will receive nutritional meals, age appropriate schooling, a school uniform (where applicable) and learn about the good news of Jesus.
You will receive regular emails and/or photos from your sponsored child and have the opportunity to join us on a future mission trip to the village!
The Scholarship Program provides funding to students who have completed high school and are ready to pursue their higher education at either a trade school or university.
