History

Est. 2005

a brief overview of HHI

A Legacy of God's Faithfulness

Helping Hands International, Inc. is a non-denominational Christian non-profit whose mission is to share the love of God by bringing help and hope to hurting people through practical hands-on care!  We were established in 2005 by Ron & Leslie Ashpole, after decades of serving in local Christian ministries, and accomplish our mission each year by sending out small groups of Volunteers to minister to the needs of underserved rural communities around the globe.  Many of our projects focus on alleviating food insecurities, providing  shelter, medical assistance, clean water, and Disaster Relief.  However, we also have a Child Sponsorship and Scholarship program which serves over 200 students on a monthly basis and currently feeds over 1,600 each Saturday in Kenya.  This History page in dedicated to highlighting God's faithfulness over the years and sharing what He is continuing to do through our Volunteers, Projects and Programs!

Loving our Neighbor

Helping Hands International is partnering with Samaritan's purse the first week of December 2021 to provide relief to Whatcom County, WA flood victims.  Heavy rains have caused flooding and mudslides throughout Whatcom County resulting in hundreds of evacuations, road closures, hundreds of thousands of power outages, and damage to more than 500 homes.  We will be primarily providing mud outs, debris cleanup, and encouragement for flood victims.

Helping Hands International is partnering with Samaritan's Purse in January and February 2022 to provide relief to Mayfield, KY tornado victims. A swarm of deadly nighttime tornadoes tore through six states from Friday (12/10/21) evening into Saturday (12/11/21) morning. This unusually violent, late fall outbreak is believed to be the deadliest U.S. tornado event ever recorded for December.  We will be primarily providing debris cleanup, roof tarping chainsaw work and encouragement for tornado victims.  IF YOU CAN NOT VOLUNTEER BUT WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TO THIS PROJECT, PLEASE CLICK HERE!
